Several factors affect how long an exterior paint job will last. The three major ones are; how your house was painted previously, how you have maintained your house, as well as climate and weather.
Awesome post! I just wanted to add a couple tips about cleaning brushes that might be helpful. If you’re painting and are coming back for second coats later the same day, you can put your brush in a ziplock bag to keep it from drying out while you’re taking a break. When cleaning your brushes, use Murphy Oil Soap, it really helps to get the paint off and is eco friendly. You can even soak brushes in it and clean them later on if you’re a giant procrastinator like I am 🙂 I love following your progress with this house and am so stoked to see the finished product! Cheers and have a great day! Alexandra February 25, 2015 Jill @ Champagne for Everyday February 25, 2015 .

Good contracts include descriptions of prep work and repairs; paint specs by brand name, type, color and product number; the number of coats; and a full description of the work, including frequently omitted items such as cabinet interiors and shutters. Minimize delays by specifying that, weather permitting, work will be continuous. Get a payment schedule that minimizes the down payment — the more payment you can withhold until the end, the more leverage you’ll have to get the job done well and per your specifications. Insist that contractors provide proof that they carry both general liability and workers’ compensation coverage.

Just like all of the other reviews on here, House Painting went above and beyond to make our house look amazing. Abraham and his helper came on time every day and worked their tails off the entire time. He really payed attention to detail and even helped to seal our mail slot on our door and removed and replaced one of the old boards we had on our house. We realized that he didn't have to do that and we really appreciated the work that they did. I would give them 10 stars if I could. The price was standard compared to other quotes that we got. I wish more businesses worked like this. Thanks House Painting!
