Oh wow, this looks like SO much work! I guess I have been renting in big cities for so long and not painting myself. However, any time my family does they DIY – and it’s always a much better, more creative job than when they pay someone!! The whole house is your canvas =) Kathryn February 25, 2015

I was learery due to the negitive reviews but this tool seems great for what it's used for ... I recommend practice on the pressure with water before actually using it to get the idea but I can see how jamming the button all the way down even in little quick bursts could cause some major paint problems on your wall ... but with a few minutes of practice you'll quickly see how it works and be able to quickly tackle your edging problems! Im not sure how dumb you gotta be to rate this below 5 stars but there are folks out there that need help. I finally had a chance to use this to paint my stair skirts before my new stair steps are installed. Not only did I NOT MAKE ANY MESS, I was able to put three coats on in 4 hours. It took me longer to wait for the paint to dry then to put it on (30 minutes maybe for both sides!). It looks professionally done and hardly used any paint! Only thing I had to clean was the tool. Love this little gem!
When asked what he’d do if he were to retire tomorrow, Dean says he would spend more time in the mountains. “Right now, with running the business, my wife and I are limited in how much time we can spend at the cabin. If I was retired, I could stay there more than three or four days at a time. I’d stay for a couple of weeks and just relax, hike, and fish.” A: I’ve always preferred music, but as I’m getting older, I’m enjoying talk radio more. A: As someone who’s very passionate about the environment, I’d go to the past so I could see what the forests and natural landscape looked like before civilization changed everything. Nigel notes that there are two very important reasons why you want a detailed proposal. The first, as described above, is so you can make an informed decision about what exactly you will be getting for your money. The second is because the proposal will act as a road map for the project, to which not only you, but also the crew, can refer. For example, at the end of each day Nigel’s designated foreperson checked in with me to review the progress. He or she was able to tell me that this area was going faster or slower than the bid indicated and ask me if/how we wanted to adjust. In other words the bids served as a point of reference that facilitated mutual expectations and clear communication throughout the entire project. Above: Shiny painted floors at The Rose Hotel Deal. The cost of remaining licensed, bonded and insured are among the ongoing expenses for a house painting business. Other on-going expenses include painting equipment, transportation, and advertising. Many business expenses are tax-deductible, so including payment for the services of a qualified tax accountant in your operating budget is a wise investment.
While it is certainly possible to be a decent painting contractor and not own a website, the best contractors are also successful business people. They understand that today’s consumer is looking for instant information, and a website will include all the details homeowners are looking for: references, before and after photos, details of services, contact information and history of the company, owner and staff.
Good companies have necessary expenses and they have to make enough money from the jobs they do to pay those expenses. Shady contractors are notorious for doing jobs for low wages, and they will often times convince the customer that they're getting a "good deal".
