Feared Question #6 – “What Kind Of Training Do Your Employees Receive? How Often?” .
I was learery due to the negitive reviews but this tool seems great for what it's used for ... I recommend practice on the pressure with water before actually using it to get the idea but I can see how jamming the button all the way down even in little quick bursts could cause some major paint problems on your wall ... but with a few minutes of practice you'll quickly see how it works and be able to quickly tackle your edging problems! Im not sure how dumb you gotta be to rate this below 5 stars but there are folks out there that need help. I finally had a chance to use this to paint my stair skirts before my new stair steps are installed. Not only did I NOT MAKE ANY MESS, I was able to put three coats on in 4 hours. It took me longer to wait for the paint to dry then to put it on (30 minutes maybe for both sides!). It looks professionally done and hardly used any paint! Only thing I had to clean was the tool. Love this little gem!
If you do decide to make it a full-time business, the sky’s the limit. The house flipper/contractor that I worked for billed clients $35 per hour for painting, and paid his best painters perhaps half of that, so there is room for some profit there. Consider the case of Matt Shoup, who started with $100 and went door-to-door, asking neighbors if they needed some painting done, then built a painting business that earns $2.5 million per year!
Decide what style you are going for. Rustic might mean more warm tones, whereas modern might include more neutral or cool colors. Choosing a style will help narrow down the range of colors or a specific palette that will convey the look you want. Are there features, tapestries or fixtures in the space that would only match certain colors?
Great work done by Mayco Painting. They were very professional and communication was great. We are very pleased with the exterior paint job of our home and highly recommend them!
Both Google and Yelp list (mostly) independent reviews from real costumers. Yes, it’s possible to “game” them, but Nigel has some tips on what to look for: If a company has no online review profile, this can be a red flag. Beware of brokerage sites which offer to make referrals. Often these companies make money based on the number of referrals, not the jobs booked, so their recommendations may be based on little more than a background check on the owner. My husband and I want to buy an old house when we stop renting, so these tips will definitely be coming in handy! Krista February 25, 2015
On the other hand, there are many homeowners who don’t know where to start when choosing a paint color. Do I want a safe, neutral color, or something more bright and inviting? No matter where you are on the spectrum of choosing a paint color, there are a few questions you should ask yourself that will help you choose the best color for your painting project.
If you’re hiring an exterior painter, the painter will likely not need to enter your home. But for interior paint jobs, the painter will need to enter your home.
"A Painter's Touch was the best choice we could have made for our home! They did an amazing job, the colors were right on point, the workers were friendly and polite, the job was complete on time and the price was so reasonable! Thanks so much to Josh and the guys! You were awesome! Will be telling all my friends to go to A Painter's Touch for all their painting needs!"
We are in the process of painting our entire house. It’s not huge by any means but we do have very high ceilings in our living room/kitchen which has created an extra issue. YES TO SPENDING PLENTY OF TIME DOING PREP WORK. It’s amazing long it takes to get everything ready to even crack open a paint can. It does make a world of difference though. Jenn February 25, 2015
Textured walls and decorative finishes tend to require more labor and are hence more expensive. You can expect to pay $2-$4 per square foot for a basic textured wall, labor and material costs included.
Marchesi recommends tinting your primer to the color you plan on using on the walls, so you can prime and lay your first coat at the same time. You can have a professional tint your primer at any paint or hardware store.
Spraying is a much better application if you are changing the color of your home. Spraying covers better and the application is more uniform. Spraying has no brush strokes and offers a more durable satin finish that looks much nicer. Hand brushing a new color may not give you the complete, even coverage you are looking for. A spray gun will give you full coverage and a more even coating for your new paint color. Spraying is more versatile and can be used on many different surfaces with an even finish and no brush strokes.
